Once you’ve gotten some action going at home, take your commitment to work and encourage your coworkers and company to Green Your Office. Once you’ve taken these steps, you can make the decision to Live Green. These simple steps in your home and office are one way to get started, but you can take this action even further. Every time you buy a product, invest in a company, or do business with another company, you should keep in mind the principles of sustainability. Find out whether the company or product you are investing in is doing its best to reduce its waste, reduce or eliminate harmful byproducts and emissions, and offsetting to eliminate its impact on global warming. Make an effort to find companies that have responsible environmental practices before you invest. Finally, you can Encourage Others to Live Green. Many people know they should go green, but don’t understand why. Others want to ‘live green’, but don’t know how. Start in your home with your family, in your office with coworkers, then spread the news to your friends, neighbors, and community. You can join or start a local chapter of an environmental NGO, or establish your own community environmental group. |
